It's the halfway point of the group stage, so the rankings is taking form. All six English teams are currently in the top 12, but there are only 2 pts between 5th and 16th place, so there's a whiff of volatility about the entire situation. All remains open.

Initial Game Reports
Just one goal during the opening period of the two early games. Samuel Dahl's sixth-minute sizzler has earned Jose Mourinho’s Benfica a 1-0 lead away to Ajax.
Marseille v Newcastle Preview
Although Newcastle arrived in the French south fresh from their restorative 2-1 home English top-flight victory over Manchester City on Saturday, and having beaten Union Saint-Gilloise, Benfica and Bilbao in the Champions League, their sole away victory since early April came in the Belgian capital at Union Saint-Gilloise.
It's not that Howe was eager to talk about the psychological aspect of this away form issue. “The Champions League is distinct from domestic games,” said the coach, whose team are 6th in the European table, with 9 pts from a possible 12 and automatic progression to the last 16 almost within touching distance. “I am not sure if you can compare them.”
We have a separate live blog for Chelsea v Barcelona. Scott Murray, the MBM version of Diego Maradona is handling for that.
