Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
