Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Honors.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second straight season.
The 27-year-old captured four tournament victories – the most on tour – which included retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles title.
A Season of Dominance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also claimed victory at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Record-Breaking Statistics
Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a record £11m in prize money.
She earned nearly 80% of the votes cast by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a new level".

- Returning Star of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking a extended hiatus following the birth of her daughter and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko received the award after starting the season positioned outside the world's top 300 and rising to the eighteenth spot.
- Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were voted after winning their second career Grand Slam title as a pair.
- Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after advancing to five finals.
Last week, Carlos Alcaraz won three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
